Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor who is best known for his role as the star of the popular TV show 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. From his early college days Meloni became interested in the field of acting. Then he studied at The University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he worked on TV and film but his performances on small screens were what earned him fame. This is not surprising since the actor has managed to grab the attention of viewers by playing characters who are on either sides of the legal system. He played the role of a serial killer in his debut television show and then later played as an NYPD detective. The actor has been nominated several times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen appearances. The most appealing feature of his face is said to be his distinctive blue eyes that are regarded as a signature and helped in portraying tough characters that have charisma. The year 2006 was the last time he was included in People's publication's Sexiest Men Alive list.
