Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of heartbreak in the early years achieved wide recognition in the beginning of the 21st century. Swift was a fan of music at an early age and she progressed quickly from roles in children's theatre until her first performance before an audience of tens of thousands. When she was 11 years old, she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game and the following year she picked up the guitar and began writing songs. Swift got inspiration from musicians from the country genre, such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks as well as the Chicks in order to write original music that reflected the loneliness she experienced at 13 years old. Swift's parents relocated her to Tennessee at the age of thirteen after they sold their Pennsylvania farm. It gave Swift to devote more time looking for labels to promote the country genre in Nashville.
